Presentations about Universal Design for Learning
In the area below, we have included links to the presentation/workshops held about UDL.
Extending the Learning Experience: UDL and Augmented Reality
This session will expose participants to redesign of their instruction using UDL principles as a foundation for supporting student learning through multiple means of representation. When content is represented in a variety of ways, engagement soars. Participants will explore interactive tools and strategies to support engaging the learners they teach, what they teach and how they teach. We will experiment with technology tools and review lesson redesigns using these tools to demonstrate multiple ways to access resources and content so learners are given the opportunity engage in learning.
Designing with Learners in Mind
UDL is a framework that in learning about learning and the brain, the principles of UDL, and strategies for how we approach who we teach, what we teach and how we teach. This workshop will introduce an innovative, structured approach to generating and developing ideas and designing meaningful solutions to challenges in the classroom and school. Using the “How might we…” prompt, educators are reminded that we are all designers and that we can use design thinking strategies to tackle logistical, curricular, environmental, faculty, and scheduling issues. Participants will learn about the applications of design thinking as a way to creatively plan and design instruction based on students' preferences. We will explore many tools to support design solutions generated during the workshop.
